Autumn is in full swing and the EP Intergroup on “Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development" is in the process of organising a multitude of events in order to bring more fruitful debates to the European Parliament.
The month of September kicked off with an Assistant Lunchtime Briefing on "Building the Circular Economy with Bio-Based Materials and Products" hosted by MEP Miapetra Kumpula-Natri, Chair of the "Bioeconomy" working group. The aim of the briefing was to illustrate what the bioeconomy is and why it is important for European citizens.
On the 28th of September the Intergroup welcomed the Austrian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, Andrä Rupprechter, who outlined the Austrian vision for a real energy transition, gathering MEPs and stakeholders to discuss the need to promote renewable energy sources. The meeting was co-hosted by MEP Elisabeth Köstinger and MEP Michel Dantin bringing together the two working groups on "Sustainable Forest Management" and "Agriculture & Water Management"
On the 11th of October MEP and Chair of the Intergroup Pavel Poc and MEP Giovanni La Via hosted a breakfast meeting on the topic of “Recycling within the Circular Economy”, gathering the perspectives of the many stakeholders working along the value chain of recycling materials and products.
