Chair: MEP Vittorio Prodi (Italy, S&D, ITRE Committee)

MEP Vittorio Prodi is member of the ITRE Committee and of Delegation for relations with the United States. Chairman of the Provincial Council of Bologna from 1995 to 2004, he is the author of numerous publications and of five international patents. He is the rapporteur of the report on the Commission White Paper: 'Adapting to climate change: Towards a European framework for action'. he is also signatory of the Motion for a Resolution on "Developing a common EU position ahead of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20)".







The “Energy” Working Group notably addresses the following issues:

  • Smart and super grids
  • Securing raw materials supply
  • Energy savings/Energy efficiency
  • Externalities
  • Technologies transfer
  • Smart cities
  • Micro generation
