Given however the climate emergency and its impacts on people, planet and prosperity, the European Commission has decided to put forward a new – more ambitious – EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change in Q1 2021, in the context of its European Green Deal.\nWhile climate extremes are having far-reaching effects, water shortages both in the EU and globally result in direct impacts in a plethora of sectors and activities.
