Dear readers,
The month of May has flown by with the EP Intergroup on “Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development" continuing to bring more events and fruitful debates to the European Parliament.
The month kicked off on 4 May with MEP Angélique Delahaye gathering stakeholders in the European Parliament to discuss "The Value of Biodiversity for Agriculture - How to both promote and support the agricultural sector?".
On the 26 May the Intergroup welcomed the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, who provided the key note speech at the breakfast meeting "Managing Forest for Sustainable Wood" gathering 80 participants from the Parliament, Commission, Member States, forest owners and industry, and environmental organisations. The meeting was co-hosted by MEP Elisabeth Köstinger and MEP Miapetra Kumpula-Natri, bringing together the working groups on "sustainable forest management" and "bioeconomy"
Following this on the afternoon of the 26 a conference-debate was held on the newly updated Fertilisers Regulation, which is part of the Circular Economy Package. The meeting was hosted by MEP Jan Huitema and highlighted the need for new tools for farming in the circular economy.
To find out more about the meetings you will in this issue find the press releases and summary reports.
